This creamy pumpkin cream cold foam coffee bar is a quick and easy fall treat that turns ordinary coffee into something special. With a secret ingredient for stability, it’s thick, velvety, and perfect for cozy mornings or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon (8 g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) cream cheese, softened
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee or espresso, per serving
  • Ice
  • Optional toppings: extra pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon sticks, whipped cream, caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Let 1 tablespoon of cream cheese sit at room temperature for 10 minutes, or microwave for 5 seconds. Mash with a fork until smooth and paste-like.
  2. Combine the foam ingredients: In a mason jar or tall container, add the softened cream cheese, ¼ cup heavy cream, ¼ cup whole milk, 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1 tablespoon powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, and a tiny pinch of salt. Do not stir yet.
  3. Froth until thick: Insert a handheld frother into the mixture, fully submerged. Turn it on and move it up and down for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is thick and velvety, like a milkshake.
  4. Check the consistency: Lift the frother out. The foam should hold its shape for a few seconds before slowly settling. If it collapses immediately, froth for another 15 seconds. If too thick, add a splash of milk and froth briefly.
  5. Prepare your coffee: Fill a serving glass with ice. Pour 1 cup of strong brewed coffee or cold brew over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  6. Assemble the drink: Gently spoon or pour the pumpkin cream cold foam over the iced coffee. Do not stir—the layered effect is key.
  7. Add toppings: Sprinkle extra pumpkin pie spice on top. Optionally, add a cinnamon stick or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
  8. Taste and adjust: Take a sip. If desired, stir in more powdered sugar for sweetness or add extra pumpkin puree next time for more pumpkin flavor.

Notes

Cold ingredients make the best foam. Chill the mason jar for 10 minutes before starting. Do not over-froth; stop at 45 seconds. The cream cheese acts as an emulsifier—make sure it’s fully softened to avoid white flecks. The foam is best used immediately but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours; re-froth for 10 seconds before using.
