A quick and simple caramel monkey bread recipe using just four ingredients, perfect for cozy mornings or last-minute desserts with a gooey, buttery caramel flavor and soft pull-apart dough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz refrigerated biscuit dough (about 450 g)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (200 g)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (115 g), melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and separate into individual biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Transfer biscuit quarters into a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm caramel mixture over the dough pieces and toss gently to coat evenly.
  5. Spoon the coated dough pieces into a bundt pan, layering loosely but evenly.
  6. Bake on the middle rack for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and caramel is bubbling. A toothpick inserted should come out clean.
  7. Let the monkey bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  8. Invert the bundt pan onto a plate or serving platter and carefully flip it over. Pull apart and serve.

Notes

Use a non-stick bundt pan or grease it well to prevent sticking. Rotate the pan halfway through baking for even browning. Let the bread cool before flipping to avoid sticky caramel spills. For dairy-free, substitute butter with plant-based spread and use vegan biscuit dough. Add nuts or spices for variations.
