A cozy and easy-to-make Halloween coffee bar featuring fluffy pumpkin cream and nutty black sesame whip, perfect for festive gatherings and casual autumn mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream (cold)
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree (canned or fresh, no sugar added)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (freshly grated if possible)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¾ cup heavy cream (cold)
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame paste (or black sesame tahini)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • Freshly brewed coffee (your favorite blend)
  • Optional garnishes: toasted black sesame seeds, cinnamon sticks, pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pumpkin Cream: In a chilled bowl, pour 1 cup of cold heavy cream. Beat on medium speed until soft peaks begin to form (about 2-3 minutes). In a separate small bowl, mix pumpkin puree, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Gently fold the pumpkin mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula, being careful not to overmix to keep a light, fluffy texture with swirls of pumpkin. Set aside in the fridge to keep chilled.
  2. Make the Black Sesame Whip: In another chilled bowl, beat ¾ cup of cold heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add black sesame paste, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Continue whipping on medium speed until stiff peaks form and the mixture is creamy and smooth (about 2-4 minutes). Transfer to a serving bowl or piping bag.
  3. Set Up the Coffee Bar: Brew your favorite coffee fresh, preferably a medium roast. Arrange the pumpkin cream and black sesame whip bowls next to the coffee pot or cups. Provide spoons or small ladles for guests to customize their drinks. Optionally, add small bowls of toasted black sesame seeds and cinnamon sticks for garnish.
  4. Serving: Pour coffee into mugs and top with a generous swirl of pumpkin cream, then a dollop of black sesame whip. Sprinkle with additional toasted sesame seeds or a pinch of pumpkin pie spice if desired. Enjoy immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

Chill cream and mixing bowls before whipping for best results. Fold pumpkin puree gently into whipped cream to maintain fluffiness. If black sesame paste is too thick, warm slightly or mix in a teaspoon of cream before folding. Prepare toppings up to 24 hours ahead and keep refrigerated. Serve coffee hot and toppings chilled. Avoid overwhipping creams to prevent graininess.
