A playful and easy dessert featuring vibrant blue jello cups topped with crunchy graham cracker ‘sand’, perfect for kids’ parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 standard 3 oz box blue raspberry or blueberry flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • Optional: a few drops of blue food coloring
  • About 6 sheets graham crackers, crushed finely with some texture
  • 3 tablespoons (42 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon (12 grams) brown sugar
  • Optional decorations: mini gummy fish or candy seashells
  • Optional: whipped cream dollops

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, pour 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water over the blue raspberry gelatin powder. Stir briskly for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in 1 cup (240 ml) cold water to the gelatin mixture. Add a few drops of blue food coloring if desired and mix gently.
  3. Carefully divide the liquid gelatin evenly into clear cups (about 4 oz / 120 ml per cup). Place cups on a flat tray or plate.
  4. Refrigerate the cups for at least 3-4 hours or until firm.
  5. While the jello sets, crush graham crackers into fine crumbs with some larger pieces for texture.
  6. In a small bowl, combine crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture clumps lightly and feels sandy.
  7. Once jello is set, sprinkle the graham cracker sand generously on top of each cup and press lightly to help it stick.
  8. Add optional decorations such as gummy fish, candy seashells, or whipped cream dollops for an ocean effect.
  9. Serve immediately or chill again. If preparing ahead, keep graham cracker sand separate and add just before serving to maintain crunch.

Notes

Use fresh gelatin powder for best results. Chill slowly in the fridge for smooth, clear jello. Crush graham crackers to varied sizes for realistic sand texture. Melt butter warm, not hot, to avoid soggy crumbs. Add graham cracker sand just before serving to keep it crunchy. Avoid shaking cups while jello sets to prevent uneven texture.
