A spooky yet sophisticated charcuterie board featuring candy corn, sharp cheddar, brie, cured meats, and seasonal fruits, designed to impress guests at Halloween parties.

Ingredients

  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (cut into cubes or sticks)
  • Brie or Camembert (whole wheel or sliced)
  • Prosciutto or Capicola (folded or rolled)
  • Salami (sliced rounds)
  • Bacon Bits or Candied Bacon
  • Pretzel Sticks or Twists
  • Water crackers or sesame seed crackers
  • Almonds or Pecans (toasted)
  • Grapes (red or green)
  • Apples (sliced, Honeycrisp recommended)
  • Candy Corn
  • Dark Chocolate Chips or Drops
  • Black Olives (pitted)
  • Orange M&Ms or Skittles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the cheese by cutting cheddar into uniform cubes or sticks and placing brie on the board first to anchor the display.
  2. Add the meats by folding prosciutto or rolling salami, placing them next to the cheeses in clusters to create distinct zones.
  3. Place crackers and pretzels by leaning crackers against cheese or laying them flat, and standing pretzel sticks up for a ‘forest’ effect.
  4. Fill with fruits and nuts by scattering grapes, apple slices, and nuts around the board to fill empty spaces and add color.
  5. Add the candy corn by pouring it into remaining gaps to fill small holes and create visual pop against darker items.
  6. Add final touches by strategically placing dark chocolate chips and black olives for contrast, then step back to assess balance.

Notes

Soft cheeses should be taken out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving to reach room temperature. Toss apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning. Leave negative space for elegance. Serve at room temperature for best flavor.
