A cozy, easy slow cooker recipe featuring a juicy bone-in ham glazed with a perfectly balanced peach bourbon sauce. Ideal for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 lbs bone-in pre-cooked spiral-cut ham
  • ½ cup peach preserves
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Remove the ham from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Place it flat-side down in your slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together peach preserves, bourbon, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and garlic powder. Stir in water to loosen the glaze.
  3. Spoon about half the glaze evenly over the ham, coating the top and sides. Reserve the rest for basting.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours, checking around 4 hours to avoid overcooking.
  5. Every hour, baste the ham with the reserved glaze using a basting brush or spoon to build a sticky, shiny crust.
  6. Optional: Transfer the ham to a foil-lined baking sheet, brush with remaining glaze, and broil for 3-5 minutes to caramelize the finish, watching closely to avoid burning.
  7. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

Use a good-quality bourbon for best flavor. Basting regularly is key to building a sticky, shiny glaze. Optional broiling step adds a caramelized finish. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute bourbon with apple juice and a splash of vanilla extract. Rest ham before slicing to keep it juicy.
