A nostalgic, no-bake holiday dessert featuring layers of creamy peppermint fudge and white chocolate bark with a satisfying crunch from crushed peppermint candies and cereal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 3/4 cup crushed peppermint candies (plus 1/4 cup reserved for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Red and green gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides, and lightly grease.
  2. Crush 3/4 cup of peppermint candies into small, uneven pieces using a rolling pin or bag.
  3. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, and condensed milk in a double boiler over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth (5-7 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract and crushed peppermint candies.
  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan and refrigerate for 20 minutes to set.
  6. Melt white chocolate chips with heavy cream in 30-second intervals or a double boiler until smooth.
  7. Divide melted white chocolate into two bowls and add red and green gel food coloring to each.
  8. Remove the base from the fridge and spoon the colored white chocolate alternately over the base, swirling slightly with a toothpick.
  9. Sprinkle the reserved 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies over the wet top layer.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until completely hard.
  11. Lift out using parchment overhang and cut into squares.

Notes

Ensure all bowls are completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use gel food coloring to avoid adding excess liquid. For a gluten-free option, ensure candies are certified gluten-free. For dairy-free, use coconut milk-based chocolate chips and condensed milk.
